From the various strata of the business world in the international continuum it has come to our knowledge that henceforth the Mediagrif shall enable Polygon, the renowned online business-to-business Internet marketplace for the jewellery industry with the latest and most effective re-written, state-of-the-art software that are specially designed to augment the appositeness and also to ease the process of using Polygon. It has been revealed that the new software in conjunction with the integration of an innumerable number of suggestions and requests from the membership is based the latest technology of Java code on top of an Oracle database.

Polygon is the largest online marketplace for business-to-business trading in the gem and jewellery industry operating in the jewellery industry for the last 22 years at a stretch. On Polygon, seller's list inventories of their products and buyers search based on their needs but actual business transactions are limited to members. Only legitimate gem and jewellery companies are allowed access and it is closed to consumers. The company is in operation in the U.S. since 1984 and is now expanding into Asia, South Africa, the Middle East, and Russia as a joint venture with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre. The Polygon diamond database, with an expected estimation to be the largest collection of polished diamonds on Earth, recently exceeded $1.5 billion in wholesale value.

Speaking on the occasion the CEO of Polygon, Mr. Jacques Voorhees said, "Polygon re-written in Java and running on Oracle, is like going from a 10-year-old, high-mileage rust-bucket, to a brand new Porsche 911-S." "It runs faster, its easier and quicker for our members to use, and it provides new capabilities that will translate into even more trading opportunities," he added.

On the other hand the Marketing Director Krista Olson said, "We see international expansion as one of our largest growth areas in the coming few years." "Our new software gives us the ability to allow users to ultimately define their own trading areas, be it Australia, Hong Kong, Europe, or any combination of geographical, credit-worthiness, and membership-association status. Thus a retailer in London who only wishes to access UK-based suppliers can define their universe that way, but that same retailer-one day needing a very difficult-to-find item-is equally empowered to 'search the world' to ensure they find it," he concluded.
