Circuit City to Host National Photo Contest

Circuit City Stores, Inc., the leading specialty retailer of consumer electronics and related services has teamed up with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Olympus Imaging America Inc., for the introduction of new-fangled enthusiasm to the annual ImageMakers National Photography Competition by the means of initiation of the customer choice "Take a Shot" online competition.

The Circuit City initiated its journey in 1949, when Samuel Wurtzel opened Virginia's first retail television store Ward's—Richmond with the sole objective of providing the community with a new technology for changing the face of consumer electronics forever. Within a period of 50 years the company with 643 stores and diversified business network is a Fortune 200 Company and the third largest consumer electronics retailer in the United States.  Circuit City's domestic segment operating in 12 other locations in the U.S. and its Superstores range in size from 15,000 to 45,000 square feet (1400 to 4000 m²) through an offering of a large selection of brand-name consumer electronics, personal computers and entertainment software. The Company's international segment is operated through over 800 retail stores and dealer outlets in Canada. The escalating scenario of business confides the Circuit City in developing its technologies and solutions to make life easier and enjoyable through latest technological innovations.

It has come to the knowledge that from the commencement of the sponsorship right from the year 2002 this is for the first time that the Circuit City is going to host an additional contest for supplementary recognition of the work of the 24 talented youngsters who had already won the ImageMakers contest but at the initial level. From its origination on 15 of July through the August 11 of 2007 while making visit to the Company's website the visitors shall be able to have a glance of the winning entries from all 24 contestants and at the same time to vote on their preferred submission. Furthermore both the Circuit City and Olympus will confer the award, for the overall winner's local Boys & Girls Club with a digital dark room" that includes of two PCs, two monitors, an Olympus E-410 Digital SLR (single lens reflex) camera, and software. For the better handling of the latest devices the setup and training will be provided by the firedog(SM) services team of the Circuit City.
