Circuit City Stores, Inc. the leading specialty retailer of consumer electronics and related services today announced here of its nomination of Mr. Bruce H. Besanko as the next Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer with effect from July 30, 2007. The Circuit City initiated its journey in 1949, when Samuel Wurtzel opened Virginia's first retail television store Ward's—Richmond with the sole objective of providing the community with a new technology for changing the face of consumer electronics forever. Besanko, happened to be the senior vice president and the finance and chief financial officer for The Yankee Candle Company, Inc., a prominent organization in the field of designing, manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing of scented candles of high quality from the month of April in the year 2005. in that very Company he was accountable for the effective management of all areas that include the most important areas like finance, accounting, internal audit, lease administration, information systems and investor relations. Not only this, his career graph demonstrates similar high profile positions for many a times. In the Best Buy Co., Inc., the noteworthy retailer of consumer electronics, home office products, entertainment software, appliances and related services he served as Vice President, Finance from the period ranging from 2002 to 2005. In addition, he had also held several financial leadership positions of repute and increasing responsibility from 1996 to 2002 in the hardlines business at Sears, Roebuck & Co., a retailer of home merchandise, apparel and automotive products and related services.
