Space Systems/Loral Remembers Inauguration Of Intelsat

Space Systems/Loral, better known with its trademark SS/L, the prominent subsidiary of Loral Space & Communications (and the world's leading provider of high-power commercial satellites, today announced here of its concentrated celebration of the success of the inauguration of the Intelsat VII program between the time period of 1993 and 1996. it has affirmed in this regard, that all of the eight geosynchronous satellites, tat were built at the outset by SS/L itself for the Intelsat Ltd., manage to exist in healthy conditions even after the limitation of   their constricted term. While seven of them continue somehow to belong to the Intelsat fleet, one is being owned and flown by a separate but distinguished operator.

The Loral Space & Communications is a satellite communications company. The company excels in owning and operating a fleet of telecommunications satellites, that are used to broadcast video entertainment programming, distribute broadband data, and provide access to Internet services and other value-added communications services. Loral is also acclaimed as an internationally renowned leader especially in the designing and manufacturing of satellites and satellite systems. Its designed and manufactured satellites and satellite systems are being used for commercial and government applications that include direct-to-home television, broadband communications, wireless telephony, weather monitoring and air traffic management. It is to be remembered in this respect that the last remnant of the Intelsat VII series spacecraft, that was launched on June 15, 1996, managed to reach its 3,960 day orbital design life on May 29, 2007. Taken together, the Intelsat VII program has cumulatively logged more than 10 years of operation that is beyond its contractual life, while continuing in the presence of excellent services today.

Thierry Guillemin, the venerated Vice President of Satellite Operations and Engineering in Intelsat said in this respect, "These robust communication satellites will continue to provide high quality services to our media, network services, and government customer sectors."

While speaking to the queries of this correspondent Pat DeWitt, the Chief Executive Officer of Space Systems/Loral said,  "SS/L is pleased with the performance of the Intelsat VII fleet and we appreciate how Intelsat's project oversight contributed to the program's success."   "I personally have seen Intelsat evolve from an international consortium of governments to the highly successful commercial powerhouse that it is today. After so many years of working together we are proud that Intelsat continues to entrust us with its satellite procurement needs," he concluded.
