Ford Foundation Grants Ceridian LifeWorks

It has come to the knowledge that the Ceridian Lifeworks along with Employee Assistance Program or the EAP, the work-life and productivity division of the Ceridian Corporation, has recently received a grant of $252,000 from the well-known Ford Foundation. It has also been affirmed that the objective is to work with six U.S. employers on a pilot program for augmenting the integer of employees belonging to the lower wage group and enrolling in the publicly funded work supports.


Ceridian is a well-known information services company engaged in the service for years satisfying the needs of businesses and employees. The company's concentration or the core area of function is human resource, transportation and retail markets. The company's improved financial and operational performance led to accelerating marketplace momentum for Ceridian in 2005. The organization is having a strong and efficient position in growth markets with a noble plan to elevate and excel through enhancing the international presence. It is stated, through the performance in the international business arena that the company remains in some way remains committed to continuous process and productivity improvements. The grant that has been awarded by the Families and Work Institute is a nonprofit organization with its sole intention driven towards the research on the altering workforce along with the varying family and changing community. It is a part of the Supporting Work Project that is funded by the Ford Foundation.

From a detailed discussion with the highest echelon of the Ford Foundation it has been revealed that the chief intention of this project is to enable a prominent business and governmental management for the establishment of partnerships within communities for the escalation of the number of employers known for their intentions for facilitating the lower-wage employees of them with the admittance of publicly funded work supports. The programs have been designed such for making it possible for lower-wage employees to better support themselves and also heir families on financial foundation. It also includes manifold programs in the vein of the Earned Income Tax Credit, Food Stamps, housing and heating assistance, child care subsidies and tax credits, Medicaid and the State Children's Health Insurance Program or SCHIP.

Speaking on the center of attention of publicly funded work supports the Senior Vice President of Ceridian LifeWorks Zachary Meyer said, "In addition to the obvious benefit that this initiative will bring to employees, we anticipate that employers will see their employee absences and turnover rates improve because their lower-wage employees will be more economically stable. As a result, these individuals will gain access to more resources to help them manage things such as childcare, housing and health insurance. As a result, they will have fewer distractions from their work and are more likely to stay in their jobs."
