Motorola Bestows US $20,000

Motorola, Inc. the renowned frontrunner in wireless and broadband communications along with Motorola Foundation today announced here about the donation amounting to US $20,000 to the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP) for the creation of an ACCP/Motorola Scholarship Fund. It should be noted in this regard, that the prime announcement was made at the ACCP's Annual Banquet, a distinguished part of the ACCP's General Meeting and Conference held this year at Nassau, in Bahamas.

Motorola is renowned throughout the world for its innovative techniques and leadership in wireless and broadband communications. Being inspired by the vision of Seamless Mobility, the name of Motorola has become synonymous to get and stay connected simply and seamlessly to the people, information, and entertainment. The company excels in this by designing and delivering "must have" products, "must do" experiences, and powerful networks -- along with a full complement of support services.

 

It has been announced in this regard, that the prime objective of the ACCP/Motorola Scholarship Program will be regarding the provision of the obligatory resources for the sons and daughters of Police officers for the mere continuation of their respective college or university studies. There is a also a considerable expectation that through the promotion of this program, the students who hitherto were not able to continue with their studies in absence of adequate resources will benefit a lot and shall be able to enhance in the coming days to a substantial intensity.

The President OF ACCP and Commissioner of the Bahamas speaking on the occasion said, "One of ACCP's main objectives in the region is to take an active interest in the promotion of the development of young people regionally and internationally. To recruit students who can provide key resources to the success of policing and its critical needs for the future. In particular, we are interested in helping our youth achieve success and become productive members of society. The ACCP/ Motorola Scholarship Fund is a first step in helping us achieve that." He also emphasized that the chief objective of the very program is to enable those students who prefer to continue their education at a certified educational institution but either within the purview of the Caribbean region or with those who remain associated with the other member countries but in the Caribbean, like the United Kingdom, Canada or the United States.
