La-Z-Boy Incorporated, the pioneer residential furniture producer today announced here that Doug Collier has been nominated as the Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. It ha been stated, that Collier joined the La-Z-Boy primarily in 2002 as Vice President, Marketing for La-Z-Boy Residential, and was hailed as the Chief Marketing Officer in 2004. However, in the following year he switched over to join Select Comfort Corporation as its Chief Marketing Officer. La-Z-Boy Incorporated is a prominent residential furniture producer, marketing furniture for every room of the home. The La-Z-Boy Upholstery Group companies include Bauhaus, Centurion, England and La-Z-Boy whereas the La-Z-Boy Casegoods Group companies are American Drew, Hammary, Kincaid and Lea. The proprietary distribution network of the corporation is dedicated exclusively for the selling of La-Z-Boy Incorporated products and brands augmenting 340 stand-alone La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries® stores and 307 La-Z-Boy In-Store Galleries. The La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries retail network happens to be the largest in North America’s largest single brand furniture retailer, according to industry trade publication In Furniture. The company from its inception in 1928 when it first introduced the recliner has been in the business steadily and through intense labor and zeal for success in the succeeding decades has grown with the inclusion of a myriad of pieces and styles making the brand name exceedingly recognized across the country along with around the globe. But according to the review of the contemporary business world by and large the La-Z-Boy brand name has become synonymous with comfort and quality. The Company sources stated that in this role he will have to report directly to Steve Matlock, the reigning Senior Vice President Sales and Marketing for La-Z-Boy Residential. While talking to the newsmen over the appointment of Collier, Kurt L. Darrow said. “I am delighted Doug has chosen to return to La-Z-Boy. As with his prior tenure at the company, he will undoubtedly make a great contribution during what is an important time in the company’s history. We have recently completed a significant consumer research project and are on the cusp of launching a new marketing campaign with a new advertising agency.
