Home Depot and NASCAR Originates Humanitarian Award

The Home Depot(R), the world's largest home improvement retailer and the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR(R)) today announced here of the launching of the first-ever NASCAR Home Depot Humanitarian Award. It has been stated, that the Award will felicitate a very individual within the NASCAR community who has excelled through the means of extraordinary dedication while serving others and improving communities through meaningful service efforts at the same time. The award shall be the first of its kind in recognition of a member of the NASCAR community beyond a driver or team member.

The Home Depot® is the world's largest home improvement specialty retailer having 2,164 retail stores in all 50 states like in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, 10 Canadian provinces, Mexico and China. The Home Depot, through its HD SupplySM businesses, is also one of the largest diversified wholesale distributors in the United States scattered over 1,000 locations in the United States and Canada. The prime business of the company includes offering products and services for building, improving and maintaining homes, businesses and municipal infrastructures.

From enquiring it has been confirmed that any active employee within the NASCAR industry ranging from drivers, owners, team and track employees, licensees, media partners, sponsors to motorsports media is eligible for the receipt of the NASCAR Home Depot Humanitarian Award. The nominees will be evaluated on the basis of their community commitment and dedication; impact on the community; and charitable giving of their time and talents. The NASCAR Home Depot Humanitarian Award will be presented in conjunction with NASCAR's Champions Week Celebration, confirmed by the Company sources.

Roger Adams, the Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of The Home Depot being asked said, "Giving back is a fundamental value of The Home Depot and a passion for its associates. Through our long-standing involvement in the sport, we've learned that the NASCAR community strongly shares our belief in charitable giving of time and talent."

In addition, while being asked by the pres gathering Marcus Jadotte, the Managing Director of Public Affairs for NASCAR said, "Like our fans, the people who live and work in the NASCAR industry have always shown extra dedication, care and service to their communities and those less fortunate. The NASCAR Home Depot Humanitarian Award is a small way to recognize these efforts.”  "We are proud to partner with Home Depot to recognize an individual in our sport who so selflessly volunteers their time and talents in a special and impactful way," he said.
