Monaco Selects Motorola For TETRA Network

Motorola, Inc. the renowned frontrunner in wireless and broadband communications today announced here in Monaco of its getting selected by the State of Monaco for the delivery of a nationwide Terrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA) communications network. It has been stated, that the secure cross-functional communication network will help considerably in ensuring a faster and easier collaboration between Monaco’s public safety and emergency services.

Motorola is renowned throughout the world for its innovative techniques and leadership in wireless and broadband communications. Being inspired by the vision of Seamless Mobility, the name of Motorola has become synonymous to get and stay connected simply and seamlessly to the people, information, and entertainment. The company excels in this by designing and delivering "must have" products, "must do" experiences, and powerful networks -- along with a full complement of support services. It is the main contractor of this project being responsible for the delivery of a complete turnkey solution that includes a network and coverage planning, site installation and commissioning to enable the State of Monaco to achieve and exploit the operational benefits of their technology investment at the earliest. 184 In addition Motorola will also be involved in the maintenance and support even after completion of the system. The organization has also been termed as for the programming and installation of TETRA radios including the new MTM800 enhanced mobile radio into Monaco’s public safety and emergency service vehicles.

In addition, Motorola will deploy a full Dimetra IP network, an initial 1500 TETRA terminals, growing to 2000, and command and control stations across the country. The Dimetra IP is renowned in the offering of a resilient, robust and reliable network for seamless communication. It is an enhanced IP-based TETRA solution which is highly flexible and scalable to integrate voice, messaging and mobile applications on a single network. The Motorola will also be involved in implementing and supporting services for the Dimetra IP network.

While making a comment on the deployment, M. Raoul Viora, the Director of the Monaco Telecommunication Regulation Institution said: “We’re continually looking for ways to improve the country’s emergency and administration services and are confident that investing in high performance communications network is an effective way of achieving this. We’re striving to reach the very highest standards of quality and reliability and believe that Motorola will help us to accomplish this.”
