Employers who take proactive steps for the sake of reducing stress in the workplace work have happier, healthier and more productive employees. This has come out as the result of a study jointly done by the Ceridian Life Works and its recently acquired health coaching firm, the Leade Health. It has been reported, that of the 1,000 people that were surveyed at 20 different organizations using the Ceridian LifeWorks-Leade Stress Management program in the past year, 52 percent lowered their stress levels at work. While 40 percent confirmed about their improvement regarding their ability to cope with stress more than 70 percent said they had less fatigue, headaches, insomnia, stomach aches and also had improved appetites.
Ceridian is a well-known information services company engaged in the service for years satisfying the needs of businesses and employees. It is stated, through the performance in the international business arena that the company remains in some way remains committed to continuous process and productivity improvements. It has been reported, that one tool that is available to assist employers with workplace stress is the Ceridian LifeWorks – Leade Health Stress Management program, that is apt in the using of a "little-at-a-time" approach. With this approach, it has been found that employees get help to manage issues that appear to be overwhelming by tackling them one step at a time, rather than trying to fix everything at once. The participants work one-on-one with a master's-level, personal health coach to become more aware of their stress and how it affects their job. The health coach is bestowed with the responsibility to help the participants understand about the basic cause of their workplace stress and educates them for coping skills that impact their response to stress. Strikingly the individuals have been found to learn how to take better care of themselves and deal more effectively with people and situations at work. Speaking on the occasion the Senior Vice President of the Ceridian LifeWorks said, “Improvements in any one of these areas can address key factors such as employee engagement, absenteeism and presenteeism. Studies have shown that the annual cost of lost productivity related to stress and job dissatisfaction can be as high at $2,500 per employee. Clearly if it is not addressed, the cost to employers is very significant”. |
