Friendly's Benefit For Easter Seals

Friendly Ice Cream Corporation today announced here the results of its 26th annual 'Cones for Kids' Valentine's Day fundraiser to benefit Easter Seals. It has been informed, since the conclusion of last year's campaign, Friendly's has raised $1.16 million with the aim of helping children and adults suffering from disabilities, exceeding 2006 results by 14 percent. In addition, most dollars were raised during 'Cones for Kids', with donations being generated during the two FREE kid meal promotions. This year's success brings Friendly's overall total raised for Easter Seals to more than $24.5 million since 1981, confirmed by the Company itself.

Friendly Ice Cream Corporation is a renowned integrated restaurant company serving signature sandwiches, entrees and ice cream desserts in a friendly, family environment in more than 510 companies and franchised restaurants throughout the Northeast. From its commencement 71 years back Friendly’s has been continuing with strong brand recognition and at present is revitalizing its restaurants with the introduction of new products to grow its customer base. The company is also engaged in the manufacturing of ice cream, which is distributed through more than 4,000 supermarkets and other retail locations.

On each and every year, the money raised through 'Cones for Kids' are spent for helping Easter Seals to provide such comprehensive programs and services as medical rehabilitation, assistive technology, inclusive child care, adult day centers, and even camping and recreation for children and adults living with autism and other disabilities. Easter Seals is the leading non-profit provider of services for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, physical and mental disabilities, and other special needs functioning for the last 85 years at a stretch.

Mr. James E. Williams, the Jr., president and Chief Executive Officer, Easter Seals said on this occasion,"After all these years, I continue to be amazed by Friendly's commitment and enthusiasm to supporting Easter Seals."
